the process
In February 2014, Arthur Rizzo, Bruno Panhoca, Rafael Abrahão, and Viale de Lara created the poetry blog Nada Pensativo (Thoughtless). It offered four distinct perspectives on life and the world, explored and shared poetically with the public.
By April of that year, Arthur Rizzo and Rafael Abrahão wove select poems into a single dramatic narrative, birthing Anamnesis—a 60-minute play structured as interwoven monologues. This script marked the genesis of Santa Companhia (Holy Company), a laboratory for theatrical experimentation at the crossroads of other art forms.
With the text ready, the team assembled: 13 artists (poets, dancers, musicians, actors, and visual artists), mostly from Teatro Escola Macunaíma and UNESP’s Arts Institute. Rehearsals ran from April 2014 to August 2015, held at Macunaíma, UNESP, and the rooftop of Arthur Rizzo’s apartment building.
Before the premiere, the company debuted the short piece Futurice (In)Human at the 68th Quinta Poética (Casa das Rosas). They also honed collective creation through Thoughtful Saturdays, performance events at Verve Gallery.
The play’s monologues trace an unnamed man’s life in three stages: adolescence, youth, and adulthood. These phases unfold simultaneously onstage, deepening the narrative. Live music—composed by Pedro Palma and arranged by Igor Fialkovits—accompanies the performance.
Like Bacchus’ myth, this was Santa Companhia’s first birth: a phase of free poetry and the search for a more robust artistic core.

synopsis
Minds in eternal transition recount, relive, and project memories and conflicts of man and his world. The moon pierces the glass window. Concrete walls and icy hearts mirror insanity—revealed as the sanest lens to grasp reality. This light exposes the darkness of human solitude, balanced on the tightrope between life and death. Fear and desire. Love and hate. Revolt and transformation.
