Antropomystika

First party of Santa Companhia

FESTAS PERFORMATIVAS

June 10, 2016

After Anamnesis we encountered anthropophagy, which became the focus of our creative research. Navigating through the poetics and aesthetics proposed by this theme, we moved towards Antropofrei - a street performance experiment that crossed anthropophagy with Frei Caneca, both as character and street.

However, to make the Antropofrei cauldron possible, we needed to pulse an independent economy for the transcendent: parties to animate the living and foster cutting-edge art!

Antropomystika was the first joyous party held by the Company, bringing together DJs, performers, bands and artists. The space chosen to joyfully occupy the first dithyramb was the unused land destined for student housing at Unesp's Arts Institute. By chance, we picked the coldest night of the year! June 10, 3°C.

Desire and bonfire to warm us up!

In this first performative party, host Apollo invites Dionysus to amplify the celebration and lead the procession. To boost our economy, the company worked with original drinks, food and clothing sales.

Apollo's Letter to Dionysus

Pleasurable Bacchus,

I am Sun and Oracle, reborn and generating in constant explosion. False modesty for humans - without me they wouldn't be. They live by my heat and pray to me to cure the plague I myself brought, while poisoning themselves with your so-called pleasures. Seductive and noisy, you know well you're the one they seek in dark corners. Watching from above, I grew tired of seeing your pleasure penetrate the veins of those who gaze at my reflection and only see refraction.

So be it. For one night I decided to withdraw the plagues I impose on these fragile creatures and expose them to your whims, without cause or regret. For one night, I want to live among those who cry for us and leave them in your hands and whatever parts they wish to touch you. Interested in understanding why they're so susceptible to you, I'll leave my splendor to enter where my light doesn't reach, deep into night.

I invite you to host the ANTROPOMYSTICX FEXXYTA, receive the inferior beings and offer your sincere ejaculations and narcotic penetrations. I divide the event according to earthly speculations that nature splits in four elements: EARTH - WATER - FIRE - AIR. Thus I create an approach to these humble creatures' ideas.

From humans, I only expect them to be fit to entertain us. Those who feel positioned to do so must complete a simple divine formality. The rest, show us what you're capable of.

Gratiløz,
Or@cul@r ApOLo

Dionysus Letter to Apollo

Beautiful Apollo,

I'll spare us egotistical introductions.

I wasn't expecting such an invitation. Several things surprised me: it refers to a PARTY organized by YOU, wanting to summon everyone with pompous language... I've already prepared the wine to bring! I'm delighted you called me to host (it'll be crazier this way), but know I won't be your class's receptionist. I'll bring my Bacchantes and creatures, and all others I find along the way. Let them bring who and what they want and drink what they can, besides joyous laughter and libidinous gazes.

We won't achieve this orgy cauldron of earth, water, fire and air just with order and schedules. Spiritual willingness and soul's desire are needed to enter this dithyramb without prudish armor. But let's not rationalize, let's not "Apollonize" this event. Let's just be and exist, drink and enjoy! (eat sometimes too, for the banquet will be plentiful).

Look Apollo, I bet you'll be surprised by these "humble" beings... But the time of the humble has passed! Now is the time for orgy!!! Orgy of fight and sofa, war and peace, dry and wet, Apollo and Dionysus. Let's honor this duality! oracular and orecular.

Not just humans will entertain you! I'll be there in the middle.

Light kisses,
orecul@r Dionysos
