In 2021, still during the pandemic, we received the Maria Alice Vergueiro Award, Module I of the Aldir Blanc Emergency Law. This award served as the foundation for our productions that year.

Leitura Viva (Living Reading) is a transmedia reading project by Santa Companhia. It's transmedia because it unfolds in three formats: audio, audiovisual, and live. The bemdita! podcast carries out the Living Readings in audio format, and since we were in social isolation, we used the Aldir Blanc Law to produce in audiovisual.
In this version, in addition to the reading itself, we also share a conversation about the selected text.

Alongside original works, over two years we presented readings that explored artistic fields and movements such as Epic Theatre, Existentialist Theatre, Theatre of Cruelty, Magical Realism, and Oswald de Andrade's Anthropophagic Theatre — including the Living Reading of The Dead Woman in celebration of the poet’s 130th anniversary.
And now, reflecting the frightening reality we live in, we offer a deep dive into the Theatre of the Absurd through the works of Samuel Beckett and Eugene Ionesco.
