Tira que me vem ligeira, a sina
Me passa cai numa rasteira
Me finge, que ta sem amarra

Foge dessa brincadeira, eu assumo.
Essa fogueira é lasqueira, sem rumo.
Acho que vai incendiar.
Acho que vai incendiar.

Que sou tônus e mal eficaz
Minha língua dá voltas e traz
O calor da sua rede, beleza
O amor que tem sede de seda

Fascista, milico, empreiteiro no ócio
Ao dono do agronegócio, me finge

Meu pa país can’t talk

Meu papá meu pap[a

about

In 2021, still during the pandemic, we were awarded the Maria Alice Vergueiro Prize (Module I of the Emergency Aldir Blanc Law). This grant provided the foundation for our work that year. All activities aimed to deepen and share our research on Anthropophagy. Poet Pedro Coêntro wrote "My Country" and composed it with Claudio Mascaro, recording the song with the band Manga Régia. The music video was filmed at Casa Livre and released on Santa Companhia's YouTube channel in 2022.

The song is also available on all digital platforms.

synopsis

Our independence has yet to be proclaimed
I THINK IT'S GOING TO BURN
My country, yours, ours.
Every day, millions don't know what they'll eat, thousands live on the streets, many perish from cold. No path will change anything - not the first, not the second, nor the third. Only the people, and the people alone, can change their history. It's time to declare Brazil's true independence - a Brazil that escapes the salty hands of patriarchy and falls into the people's embrace. Tomorrow will be another day!
