In 2021, still during the pandemic, we were awarded the Maria Alice Vergueiro Prize, Module I of the Aldir Blanc Emergency Law. This prize gave us the foundation for our work that year.
Santa Cia. was composed of 35 members working virtually due to social isolation. One of the proposed activities was to create virtual performances. To do this creatively, we paired one performer with two musicians, and each trio created a video-performance that blends scene, music, and audiovisual language, based on the themes explored in Santa Companhia's ongoing research.
In 2019, we were deeply involved with residents, merchants, and people from the Lapa/Vila Ipojuca region through the Movement for the Preservation of Praça São Crispim. Our connection to the Aldir Blanc Law was largely due to our relationship with these communities and our territorialized work. So that we wouldn’t remain isolated in our performances, we invited these communities to participate in creating them.
Thus was born the Santa Feira Transzmídia – 2nd edition, an event blending performances from our collective with other environmental, artistic, and educational collectives from the city of São Paulo. Here we offer you:
