about
In the second half of 2020, during the pandemic period, actress Gabriela Hess called Rafael Abrahão, inviting him to take part in an audiovisual work dedicated to Dionysus, God of Theatre. Rafael then sealed the connection with filmmaker Ricardo Rapozo, and the two went to Demétria, a neighborhood in Botucatu, to carry out the recordings. In three days, the film was shot, and all the post-production continued digitally from our homes, respecting the social distancing rules of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The short is a prayer-poem in Dionysian strength, honoring the living bacchic performers and all those who have already entered eternity.
The film had a pedagogical screening in Professor Hugo Villavicenzo's class at Célia Helena Theatre School on March 27, 2021, International Theatre Day. Its premiere took place on February 3, 2023, celebrating 9 years of Santa Companhia, at Casa das Caldeiras.
synopsis
"Ditiramba pra Subir!" is a ritual-manifesto short film, performed by a bacchante and created as a poem-act dedicated to the enthusiastic power of Dionysus. Amidst nature, a tribute is made to theatre, taking the form of a chant in honor of our ancestral masters and some of the creative artists who departed due to this plague that haunts the world in this second decade of the 21st century. "Ditiramba pra Subir!" is an offering of invocation and blessings from the god of Theatre to creative energy. Evoé!
