Water Crisis in Sampa
The mismanagement of water—
treated as waste
when it is, in truth, a resource.

Homes lack water,
yet streets flood when the sky unleashes its emotion.

Chova Chuva !

Empty gallery.
No exhibition.
We feed on the here and now
for action.
Water crisis in Sampa!
Water:
Part of the body,
essential to life,
pure flow.

We begin at Benedito Calixto,
as usual.
This Saturday, we shared the stage with rain.
We sang so fiercely for water that it finally came.

chove chuva!
Right in March, summer’s end.
We danced in sacred, acidic water,
until the arrival of the persona Governor caDucor of the State of Sampa,
who offered gutter water and led the crowd to Verve Gallery.

In the rooms:
Dances of parched, dehydrated bodies.
Bodies in gray waters,
where no swimmer swims,
where nothing is sown.
What will a glass of water cost?

Thoughtful Saturday is a production by Santa Companhia and Verve Gallery, fostering a dialogue between visual and performing arts through monthly performances on the first Saturday of each month, cyclically or linearly. The process begins with openness to porosity: we visit the gallery a month prior and devour the exhibited works for inspiration.

Thoughtful Saturday III: Aqua was made in partnership with ARQMATE and Small World.
